How we can help you find the right Assisted Living or Memory Care Community for your loved one.
Our process begins with an informational conversation about your loved one and their physical care and social needs, factoring in geographic and financial preferences.
Ideally, we prefer to visit clients in their homes and assess how they have been living, including their needs and their current sociability level. This is done without your loved one knowing why I’m really there, unless they are a decision maker.
Understanding the health of each person, especially if there is memory loss, and the care that they require is basic to my recommendations. We personally tour communities to determine the level of care each provides including their staff training and the amount of social engagement.
Tours are scheduled without your loved one’s involvement. On these tours, we accompany family members to assist with information gathering and help you understand how each community would address your loved one’s specific needs.
Our goal is to match your loved one’s care to a community that is appropriate for them on the day they move in and one that will enable them to transition through the end of life, in most non-medical cases.
When it is time to make the actual move, we assist with suggestions to make the process go more smoothly for everyone involved. Helping families understand these steps reduces anxiety on the decision makers as well as your loved one.
Planning the first few days or week in terms of managing expectations is also very helpful to families who are moving a loved one for the first time. Not knowing what to expect is very stressful.
The personal knowledge and assistance that I offer each client minimizes family concerns. We also help the community understand the family expectations for their loved one. We follow up on these moves to make sure your loved one is acclimating as best as possible.
The community, selected by the family, pays a referral fee to Insight Memory Care Choices for introducing the family to their facility. This enables me to help families at no cost to them.
